Refine Denver

Refine Denver Portfolio Collage

You know that feeling when you work with someone and it’s a journey, and they end up becoming so much more than a client? That’s what I feel for Alyssa, owner and stylist at Refine Denver. This project feels close to my heart for several different reasons.

(By the way, my connection to Alyssa came from her man Tommy of Snapback Sports Photography, and Tommy came from Sara of Art de Cuisine, and the referral chain goes on and on…)

For this site, we wanted to tell the business's story while keeping it gender-neutral and LGBTQIA+ inclusive. You should see my notes from our first call. These featured lots of symbols, dark and light imagery and a lot of exclamation points. Alyssa made a Pinterest board with her inspo and we jumped in.

We decided on a ‘slow and steady wins the race’ approach to designing this brand-new website. This allowed Alyssa to develop and grow into the concept and soul of the business that she really wanted to embody. Over many Zoom calls where we chatted, connected and honed the idea for the site, Alyssa was busy behind the scenes crafting her business.

So when we were finally ready to publish, it felt like we had truly arrived at the best possible outcome: structure and creativity meeting halfway to create something personal to her, yet indicative of how she helps others, too.
